The needlepoint work or your cross stitch work needs proper framing to preserve it properly. Counted cross stitch needlepoint work is fun and a creative pastime. There are many number of ways you can mount and frame your finished needlepoint and cross stitch projects. Cost can be an issue since frames and mounting accessories are very expensive. Frames are easy to find in all shapes and sizes. They give a character to your finished projects. It's not necessary for your frames to have glass. When you use glass, make sure to spray the surface of the fabric with scotch guard to help prevent future stains.
You can mount your projects in two different ways, either use a mounting board which you get in any craft store or there are two kinds--padded and not padded. The padding makes the fabric stand out from the frame a little and looks very nice. It's also easier to smooth out any wrinkles in the fabric.
