Kits for Needlepoint Pillow

You can only imagine how beautiful the needlepoint pillows turn out to be till you make your own. The needlepoint pillows can be made in variety of shapes, designs, sizes and colors with unique patterns on them by using your imagination and fantasy. Once you discover the fun of making needle work pillow it will be difficult for you not to fill up your house by this self designed beauties. Some of the favorite designs for needlepoint work are Teddy bears, birds, bunny rabbits, butterflies, cats, dolphins, flowers like daisy, tulips, roses and more.

Here are step by step instructions on making your needlework pillow:

1. To make a pillow out of a needlework design is relatively simple if you follow the steps. Firstly you need something to stuff the pillow with either a pillow form or some batting.
2. All needle points have holes, so it might be a good idea to make your own pillow form out of stuffing. Simply create a plain cotton pillow that’s a little bit smaller than your embroidery piece and then fill it with stuffing and stitch by machine.
3. Then you will need a piece of fabric that coordinates with the needlepoint. Size of the pillow will determine the amount of fabric. You can also use second fabric to make a border around the needlepoint. This will give it a little more formal look.
4. Once all pieces are assembled, stitch on the border. Try to stitch length on your machine that allows you to catch many of the holes in the needlepoint fabric.
5. Now, placing your needlepoint and your fabric wrong sides together and stitch three sides, again trying to stitch through the holes in the needlepoint fabric. If any trim excess fabric and turn the pillow right side out.

Lastly slide the pillow form into the case and close up the fourth side stitching by hand, taking care to make the stitches as invisible as possible. Your handmade needlepoint pillow is ready for display and use.
